Problems viewing panoramic photographs.

Our panoramic photos need you to have the Java Runtime Environment installed for them to run successfully, and they assume you have Java installed on your computer. Java is currently operative on well over 90% of computers using the internet, but if you've visited this page it's likely to be because you are in the other less than 10%!

To check if you already have Java installed, consult your computer's help system, or the manufacturer's technical support service. They should be able to advise you where to look.

You could also visit a Java Tester page. At the time of creating this page, the following looked very helpful: Java Tester Page (but it is quite technically complex).

You will probably need to do one of the following:

1. Enable Java which is already installed.

2. Update Java to a more recent version.

3. Install Java.

Many types of Java are available, but two of the most popular are Sun Java and Microsoft Java. It has been reported that Microsoft Java only works with Microsoft browsers, but we are not well-versed enough in the subject to verify this.

Please ensure that you have the latest version of your chosen Java package installed, as security bugs in older versions may make your system vulnerable to attack when connected to the Internet.

The page above should provide links to the various options available, or you could search the web with a search engine such as Google to find where to download the system you require.

Installation is normally quite straightforward, but if you are uncertain about doing this yourself, then please take advice from your computer supplier or a qualified friend. We cannot be responsible for the implications of any action you take!
